Introduction
The new Data Protection Act (DPA) with the new Data Protection Ordinance (DPO) has been in force in Switzerland since 1 September 2023. These legal foundations regulate the legal handling of so-called personal data. In connection with our association activities according to the statutes, we process different categories of data. We collect information on our members and partners, which is stored in a database. The following information provides a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit our website, sign up for our newsletter or enter a competition.
8. Additional information
8.1. Newsletter
On our website you have the possibility to subscribe to our newsletter. Registration is required for this. We collect the following data from you as part of the registration process:
- Title
- Surname
- First name
- e-mail address
- Postal address
- Language
- Acknowledgement of the data protection regulations
After entering the aforementioned information, you can trigger the registration for our newsletter. We use the so-called double opt-in mechanism. After sending the registration, you will receive an e-mail from us containing a confirmation link. In order to definitely register for the newsletter, you must confirm this link. If you do not click on the confirmation link, the e-mail address will be permanently deleted from our temporary list of newsletter subscribers after 24 hours and registration will not have taken place.
We use the e-mail marketing software Evalanche from SC Networks GmbH, Enzianstrasse 2, 82319 Starnberg, Germany to send the newsletter. You can find Evalanche's privacy policy here.
We will use your data for sending the newsletter until you revoke your consent. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future or use the unsubscribe link in the newsletter emails.
Our newsletter contains a so-called web beacon or similar technical means (tracking pixel). A web beacon is a 1x1 pixel, invisible graphic that is associated with the user ID of the respective newsletter subscriber. Through the web beacon we receive the following information about the newsletter dispatch:
- address file used;
- Subject and number of newsletters sent;
- Information about which addresses have received or not received the newsletter and for which addresses the dispatch failed;
- Information on which addresses have opened the newsletter; when they are opened, which links are clicked. In addition, the reading time is recorded, whereby this is only done on a target group basis.
- Information on which addresses have unsubscribed; and
- technical information (e.g. time of retrieval, IP address, browser type and operating system).
This information is used for statistical analysis of our newsletter campaigns. The results of these analyses can be used to better adapt future newsletters to the interests of the recipients. The web beacon is deleted when you delete the newsletter. To prevent the use of the web beacon, please set your mail programme so that no HTML is displayed in messages, if this is not already the case by default.
By registering for the newsletter, you give us your consent to process the data you have provided for the regular dispatch of the newsletter to the address you have provided, as well as for the statistical evaluation of user behaviour and the optimisation of the newsletter. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future.
