To mark European Historic Gardens Day, a guided tour focusing on the trees at Waldegg Palace will take place at 11 am.
The gardens of Waldegg Castle essentially consist of four parts: the elevated Baroque south parterre with the entrance portal in front of it, the orangery parterre, the kitchen garden, and the summer lime trees planted in the Cour d’honneur around 1700 in their original quincunx formation.

GUIDED TOUR OF THE BAROQUE GARDEN
Wildegg Castle invites you to a guided tour of the Baroque garden on European Historic Gardens Day at 11.30 am and 2.00 pm.
The garden was laid out in 1700 by the lord of the castle, Bernhard Effinger, modelled on the gardens of Versailles, and is one of the most significant Baroque gardens in Switzerland. In collaboration with ProSpecieRara, heritage crops and rare vegetable varieties are cultivated here. The castle’s Baroque garden and rose garden can also be explored at your leisure throughout the day.
