Objects from Arenenberg Castle have been left behind at Thun Castle!
They tell us about the relationship between Thun, Louis Napoléon and the military training ground. Numerous guided tours for our younger and older visitors provide an insight into the period of the grand tourists in the Bernese Oberland.
Details of the programme:
10 am – 5 pm Objects from Arenenberg Castle have been left behind at Thun Castle! On the first Swiss Castle Day they will tell us about the relationships between the imperial family and Thun, and between Louis Napoléon, who would later be Emperor of the French, and the military training ground. Guided tours and a paper chase will shed new light on the period of the first tourists and on some of the famous guests.
11 am Revealing stories about Louis Napoléon’s stay in Thun
2 pm Arenenberg Castle, Queen Mother Hortense and Thun. A journey back to the 19th century
